Field notes · Oktoberfest in Argentina · October 2026

The small AI system that ran our Oktoberfest trip.

Everyone says “I used AI”, and that kind of tells you nothing. These are the five things it did for a trip of seven to Villa General Belgrano. Notes by Ivan Verzoub.

What did the AI system actually do?

  1. One ledger, one rule

One file with every cost and every payment. The rule is written at the top: split by seven, mine included. The file applies it, so nobody has to remember it.

  2. It recalculates the moment something changes

When one friend dropped out on September 1st, it recalculated everyone's share that same moment.

  3. It compares the options

In August it put the two ways of getting there side by side: about ARS 500,000 driving against about ARS 700,000 flying.

  4. It reads a receipt

On check-in day I paid the second half of the hotel, around US$ 900, and sent it a photo of the receipt. It read it, marked it as paid and updated what everyone owed.

  5. It writes the messages

It drafted the messages to the group and the calendar invites, with everything included. It drafts. I send.
